Need documentation or online help? Interested in an attractive website that effectively conveys your image and message? My name is John J. Gardiner. I provide a variety of complete documentation and design solutions. I specialize in creating and designing attractive, user-friendly user guides, online help, and web sites. Inadequate or unusable documentation and design can thwart otherwise brilliant products and services. My services bridge the gap between your products and your end users. My list of clients is extensive and includes Microsoft, Adobe Systems, Sun Microsystems, HP, A&E Networks, National Geographic, Fireclick/Digital River, Broderbund, City of San Francisco, iPass, Siren, Stardust Software, Quadramed, Geoworks, and many others.
I have been a technical writer since 1995. I have extensive experience authoring and designing user guides, online help, specifications, web sites, icons, and user interfaces. I am familiar with a variety of applications and languages, including FrameMaker, RoboHelp, Word, HTML, Perl, CGI, SQL, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark XPress, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Homesite, Visio, and others. I am a member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC). Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have. I am happy to provide examples of my work. Click here to see my resume. I am also a bicycle advocate. I serve as a California State Representative for the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA). I work to promote responsible riding and trail access for cyclists throughout the state.
